Field of Activity

"Muhsin Ertuğrul had heard about my success at the 'Küçük Sahne,' the 'Little Stage,' and from Tunç Yalman he had heard about my studies and works at Yale University…. He asked me: 'Would you like to work at the City Theatre?' I answered"Of course, I'd love to.' 'So, then you're going to start at the season opening 1960. Well, which part would you like to play?' he asked. After a few seconds of thinking, I suggested the role of Kate in Shakespeare's play 'The Taming of the Shrew' … Muhsin Ertugrul said OK and he told me, 'You're also going to direct the play yourself. I just turned to ice when I heard those words."
