In 1919 Madam Kalitea (Aristea Kalinea) played the role of a seductive French nanny in the film Mürebbiye (Nanny).

When this film was made after the First World War, Istanbul was an occupied city.

The film which tells the story of the Frenchwoman Angel, the nanny who betrays her lover and seduces all the men in the house, from the cook to the husband of the family, was disapproved of by the French commander of the occupation troops, Franchet d'Esperey, and the screening of the film was forbidden. The justification for banning the film was, that in this film the seductive nanny Angel represents a Frenchwoman and that all the women in France were insulted thereby.

The ban included screenings in Istanbul as well as Anatolia as a whole. Despite the ban, the film was secretly shown and – unsurprisingly – was received with great interest.

The film Mürebbiye is the first film in Turkish cinema history that was censured from a political and moral point of view.

Madam Kalitea (Aristea Kalinea) acted betwenn 1917 and 1923 in seven films. In 1919 she starred as the main character of "Guverdada".
